Four teenagers find a magical diary and tumble back into the 1980s. At first it looks perfect — all neon, big hair and bigger choruses — but this is not just another John Hughes movie. This is reality, and with the help of a Fairy Godmother who looks suspiciously like one of their teachers, they’ll have to find their own way back to the twenty-first century.
A larger-than-life jukebox comedy that parodies everything we love and hate about the decade, scored wall-to-wall with its biggest hits and an absurd number of key changes — right up to a final, defiant “Don’t Stop Believing”.
The show began life as a chamber piece at the University of Roehampton in 2017, sold out its three-night run at the Jubilee Theatre in January 2018, and opened that December at the Bread and Roses Theatre with a new professional cast — playing a week to four-star reviews and strong houses.
